General Duty Assistant

General Duty Assistant (GDA) is also known as Nursing Assistants, Nursing Care Assistants, Patient care Assistants or Nursing Aides in a health care provider and hospital. General Duty Assistant is trained to provide patient’s care, patient’s safety, patient’s comfort, and assist the patient to meet their health & safety needs.

Brief Job Description :

GDA are trained to communicate soft with patients, should practice infection control policy and should also know the right methods of bio medical waste management at all times. GDA works with the supervision of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver the healthcare services to their patients which is prescribed by their medical consultants.

Personal Attributes:

The individual has to collaborate with Doctors and Nurses and other health care providers to deliver the better health care services. Pre ensuring the surgical things and other aspects before the doctor examining the patient is very much important to this role. It is just like an entry level nurse or a home nurse. Demonstrating highly ethical behavior, providing basic patient care skills, softer communication skills are more important for a GDA which are trained well with this course. The individual should be willing to work with dynamic shifts in Hospital Wards.
